CMS is fully computerised and operates Applemac computers which are networked within the office, together with PCs, providing effective planning, design and administration capabilities.
 | Vectorworks |
 | Autocad LT97 |
 | Clariscad |
Data transmission can be via floppy disks, CD or e-mail. Project/development programmes are produced using one of the following software systems operated within CMS:
 | Microsoft Project |

 | Microsoft Excel |
CMS operates a number of effective control systems to ensure compliance with the Employers requirements. These can be summarised, but not limited to the following:
 | Contractor Evaluation Schedule |
 | Employers Change Orders |
 | Room Loading Schedule |
 | Equipment Schedule |
 | Outline Development Control Plan |
 | Cost/Budget Comparative Analysis |
Additionally, implementation of a check list forms the basis for evaluation of submissions from design teams ie:
 | Evaluation of design in relation to design brief/employers requirements |
 | Operational requirements |
 | Engineering requirements |
 | Co-ordinated interface |
 | Buildability |
 | Cost/value |
 | Programme evaluation |
 | Specification evaluation |
 | Competency of key members |
 | Adequacy of staff levels |
Additionally, a number of control systems are used by CMS, namely:
 | Risk analysis |
 | Risk management |
 | Value engineering |
 | Project evaluation through clarity of brief |
 | Effective implementation of Forecasting, Planning, Co-ordination, Motivation and Effective control |
 | Promote management control to attain the clients objective |
All of CMS staff are appropriately academically qualified and have a wealth of industrial experience. Additionally, the Employer will benefit from the Principals' active close involvement with the project and not simply figureheads.
Programming
It is incumbent upon the appointed Project Manager to, as far as is reasonably practicable, reduce the programme and financial risk that the client/employer may be exposed to during the progression of the works. Given the complexity of the development, the need for effective co-ordination will necessitate a fully detailed Development Control Plan being produced as soon as practicable.
The programme must identify the various work phases, whilst being mindful of the development objectives.
Resource Management
Clearly adequate resources will need to be deployed to ensure that the project be completed, not only to specification standards, but also to the programme and cost requirements.
Content Strategy
Given the total project development programme duration, it is essential that the correct contract strategy be deployed, such that the client/employer enjoys the benefit of known completion costs at an early date.
Organisation It will be our intent to maintain adequate on and off site staff to ensure effective and timely administration control, including preparation and issue of control programmes, monitoring of progress, expenditure and resource levels. Quality Assurance CMS Bath Ltd was accredited to BS EN ISO 9001 with NQA in April 1999. (please refer to appendix 4 for NQA certificate)
